5. How do I know how many visits I'm getting? How do I keep track?
Every BetterVisitors' customer gets access to our CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT CONTROL PANEL, where you track the progress of your campaign in great detail! After you've signed up, but before your campaign starts, you'll get an email with login information. Keep this email for reference and future use or print it out.
Here's how to read your stats and make changes to your campaign:
Campaign Info
Total Visitors: Check to make sure that this matches the size of the campaign you ordered.
Total Delivered: This show show many visitors we've sent in total
Delivered Today: This line shows how many were delivered on this calendar date.
Note: For Total Delivered and Delivered Today, the stats aren't in real time, so don't worry if it stays at the same number for a while, then jumps.
Status: Make sure this is set to "Active" (unless you paused it...). Please write to us if there's a problem with your campaign status.
Campaign Details
Start Date: This is the date your campaign started.
Category: Check your category. If you selected "Vitamins" make sure it is set to "Vitamins."
URL: This should be the URL that you entered when you ordered. Make sure it's correct.
Geo Target: Your "Geo Target" should match the language/region that you ordered.
Campaign Tools
Pause: You can pause your campaign (to make changes to your site, or for whatever reason you'd like). You can restart it again whenever you'd like.
Change URL: This tool allows you to change the URL to which your visitors are delivered. If it's a different kind of site, make sure to change your category as well!
Category: You can change your campaign category to test different kinds of traffic.
With BetterVisitors, you have complete control over your campaign.
6. How soon after I buy will I get traffic? How long before I get all the visitors I purchased?
We will activate your campaign within 24 hours, and traffic will begin to flow shortly thereafter. Our target for campaigns (unless otherwise agreed) is 30 days, but it's not uncommon for a campaign to finish up to 10 days early or late, because traffic supply is unpredictable. We do, however, guarantee that you'll get ALL your visitors.
Why does our traffic supply vary? Our competitors (who often have fake traffic anyway) just add popups or load several sites on one page to increase "supply". As you can imagine, they are rarely faced with supply shortages. In fact, it's probably time to worry when a company never seems to have supply problems. We do not have that option because our supply is limited by the number of real visitors we are able to locate. Because we insist on only delivering quality traffic, we can't just "add a pop".
7. Do you guarantee that I'll get more sales? What kind of conversion rate will I get?
No, we don't guarantee sales or signups. We DO provide quality targeted traffic so YOU can make the sales. We DO GUARANTEE that we will deliver the number of visitors that you bought, in the timeframe you ordered. In the very rare case that the campaign is running late (due to insufficient traffic), we will continue delivering quality visitors until your order is complete.
Making a web site convert to sales depends on many elements, including your product, sales copy, browser load time, design, pricing, customer service and more. We send quality, targeted traffic to you so that YOU can convert the visitors to customers.
Web traffic is a little like a billboard. To take advantage of the web, we suggest (if you can) that you create a special ad "landing page" for your bettervisitors.com campaign. Send your visitors here instead of to your main page. Your landing page might include a special offer, a new product or a proven best-seller, a weekly special, or a one-time offer. When you drive by on the highway and see a billboard, you've got seconds to either remember or forget that ad. On a web site, it's the same way. Interest your visitors right away and keep them there to buy your product.
8. Do you use "bots" to generate fake traffic to my site?
NO WAY! BetterVisitors has hundreds of repeat customers because our reputation means something. It's very simple: BOTS ARE UNETHICAL. The visitors we send you are real people. Your visitors have already shown that they're interested the kind of material on your site. Not only do you get more leads, chances are your sales will jump immediately.
9. How about spam? Do you use spam? Am I in danger of being accused of using spam?
No. This is another unethical practice we don't engage in. We don't participate in any way with spam. We send you actual visitors as explained above. There is no way you can be accused of using spam methods with BetterVisitors' service.
11. Do you care what I have on my site? Are there restrictions on my content? Can I have popup/popunder ads? What about sound?
You have to obey the laws of the United States. In addition, we have our own policies that we developed over time. We only send traffic to websites with content that is appropriate for a general audience, unless you have ordered one of our adult campaigns. We don't allow any illegal content, hate text, sites promoting terrorism, sites showing or promoting real or apparent sexual activities with minors, or sites that promote illegal activities.
We DO allow pop-ups, pop-unders or sound IF you choose that option when you order. If you use these with a non-pop-up campaign, we will suspend the order and you will either have to remove the pop-ups or upgrade at additional cost.
12. I ordered my campaign 72 hours ago. Why haven't I received any login information?
The chances are very good that we did send you login information, but somehow your system thought our campaign activation email was spam, so you never saw it. Please check your spam folder and make sure our email is not there. It will begin with the words "Starting Your BetterVisitors Campaign". Also, make sure that you have "whitelisted" all email from bettervisitors.com, so you will be sure to get our replies to your questions.
Occasionally our customers put in their email address incorrectly, or mail just bounces because of a full mailbox or other problem. If this happens, or if for any reason you don't get your campaign activation information, please contact us.
13. You stopped my campaign. Why? How do I get it restarted?
Most of the time, a campaign is stopped because a pop-up was detected on your landing page, or you have sound starting without user input. Usually, all you have to do is remove the pop-up or sound, or duplicate the page without them. Sometimes a script will cause the campaign to stop - again, just remove the script so that we can restart your campaign. If for some reason you can't remove the offending item, you can just switch your URL for a new one. You can do this yourself in your control panel.
14. My hit counter shows a lot less traffic than what my stats show! What's going on?
Chances are excellent that if you examine your raw server logs you will find that all the visitors were delivered. In any dispute concerning the number of visitors sent to a website, it is our policy to compare the raw logs generated by the hosting company of the destination URL to our own stats. We've seen time and again that hit counters have some unfortunate characteristics that we can't control.
Here are a few known issues:
The counter didn't track all the hits. Counters, especially the free ones, often go down for long periods.
Some services count a visitor after 20 seconds. Our stats system does so after 8 seconds.
The counter sits at the end of the destination page. Visitors click on a link before the full page (and therefore the counter) finishes loading.
The server of the destination URL goes down. When this happens, your page won't load and the counter won't record any hits.
You can take these steps to prevent this from happening (or at least minimize the problem):
Get more than one counter.
Get your own tracking script.
Check your raw logs 3 days after your campaign ends.
Put the counter (or your tracking script) at the top of your page.
15. I ordered 5000 visitors 5 days ago and so far I've only got 300. Is that normal?
Our campaigns start a little slow then accelerate over time. In addition, we regulate traffic for best results, so there may be periods during which your traffic stops. We guarantee delivery of all your ordered visitors.
16. My campaign ends in a week, but I'm still owed 425 visitors. How will I get them?
In rare cases it may happen that a selected category is short of visitors. We can't entirely control this; our traffic consists of real visitors and they, not us, decide when they're going to type in URL that we redirect. Some of our competitors just add pop-ups or engage in unethical tricks like loading several sites on one page to increase supply. They don't ever have supply problems because they don't really have a supply at all!
We deliver quality, targeted traffic, so we can't simply "add a pop".
17. It looks like I have "bot" traffic. I thought you said you didn't use bots!
A customer writes: "We monitor our traffic very very closely. We got an alert that says: "It appears that you were attacked by a small bot yesterday on 2/9. I know that you may already be aware of this, however I just wanted to give you a heads up in case you weren't. It appears that the bot activity was from IP 65.54.188.16. You may choose to block this IP address if you feel necessary."
65.54.188.16 is an indexing bot for msn.com. It's highly likely that the MSN search engine was indexing your site, which is why you're seeing multiple apparently redundant hits. You can disallow search bots using a robots.txt instruction. Generally, it is good to be indexed, so most retail sites do not disallow search engine bots. In any case, these bot "visitors" aren't counted in your campaign with us.
Search engine robots often visit sites that receive increased traffic (which they know about because of installed toolbars and similar tools). In these case, the bot is neither redirected nor associated with our service.
18. Your stats show that you sent 2900 visitors to my site. My stats show that I got 933. Please explain!
We built our system so that it's virtually impossible for us to count a visitor who was not actually redirected to your URL. There are a variety of reasons, however, why a visitor from our servers might not be recorded by your counting system. And it doesn't necessarily mean that anything is "wrong" with your counting system.
Usually, we can figure out what might have happened by looking at your raw server logs. If you forward us (or otherwise provide access) to your raw logs (access, error and referrer), we will investigate the matter fully. Keep in mind that we need the raw data from the logs in order to investigate. Summaries usually aren't useful, and neither is data from third-party stats programs.
We have zero interest in counting visitors we didn't send to you. Even if we wanted to, it would be a stupid for us to do it because most of our customers verify their stats against ours. In our history, we have ALWAYS been able to satisfy our customer when we are provided with the raw data to conduct a full investigation. We are always interested in determining the cause of (and solution for) any apparent miscount.
